Hello 2025, Vegan Travel "Should Be" Effortless

The world is evolving, and so are the expectations of business travelers. As plant-based lifestyles become more mainstream, airlines have an incredible opportunity to lead the way in providing seamless, high-quality vegan meal options. Yet, many international carriers have been slow to adapt, leaving professionals with limited choices. It's time to close the gap and make plant-based travel effortless.

A Sincere Call for Progress

Right now, I am on a seven-hour international flight, and due to a last-minute change, I will not be provided with any reasonable food options (don't worry, I will fast). This is not an isolated incident—many travelers who follow a vegan diet routinely face the same frustrating reality. A future-focused airline experience should include: consistently available, high-quality vegan meal options, nutritious, protein-rich choices that support energy and focus, standardized offerings across airlines and routes, a commitment to innovation that keeps pace with consumer demand.

The Business Impact

This issue extends beyond personal inconvenience. When airlines fail to provide appropriate meals, they diminish the travel experience, impacting: productivity and wellbeing for business travelers, company travel policies and airline selection AND the overall perception of airline brands among a growing segment of the market.

A Future of Possibilities

The airlines that recognize plant-based dining as a core part of their service will set themselves apart as industry leaders. By expanding plant-based menus, training crews to accommodate dietary needs, and prioritizing nutrition, they can transform travel for millions!

Veganism is no longer a special request—it’s a standard expectation. Business travelers shouldn’t have to choose between inadequate meals or going hungry. The future of travel is plant-powered, and airlines that step up now will set the standard for the industry.

Thanks to companies like OTG, Hudson News, and Coremark, our airports are already ahead of the airlines when it comes to offering plant-based options. It’s time for carriers to catch up.

With vision and purpose,
